The Thai king is increasingly in Garmisch-Partenkirchen during the corona pandemic instead of in his own country. The criticism of the behavior of the monarch was now also shown in an artistic way.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen - The protest against the stay of the Thai king Maha Vajiralongkorn in Garmisch-Partenkirchen does not abate. On the contrary. On Wednesday evening, just before midnight ”, the Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl, in which he resides, came into the spotlight.
According to Bild plus, human rights activist and light artist Dirk-Martin Heinzelmann from the PixelHELPER Foundation projected critical messages onto the front of the building - in German, English and Thai. You could read sentences like: "Why does Thailand need a king who lives in Germany?" Or "Stop torturing Thai people. Criminal king! ”But it wasn't just the hotel that was affected. The pictures also appeared on the wall of the Garmisch-Partenkirchner town hall.
As it says on the homepage, the non-profit PixelHELPER Foundation fights against social grievances with unusual means. Light projectors from moving cars are often used to project light cartoons onto international messages. This form of political protest has already been used against NSA surveillance projects, arms deliveries to Saudi Arabia and animal rights.
