● Lyon creates “corridors”

In Lyon, the bicycle plan and the tactical urban planning strategy to be adopted in anticipation of deconfinement are finalized and have obtained the satisfaction of user groups. On the program: new traffic axes, with the creation of 77 kilometers of cycle lanes in addition to the 1000 existing by September, including 12 from May 11. Cyclists will also be able to take the safe bus lanes and the work on the lanes in progress will resume on Monday. Objective: create "large corridors"irrigating all the territories, according to David Kimelfeld, president of the metropolis. Bike parking offers have also been revised upwards, with the creation of 3,000 additional hoops throughout the city. The premium for the purchase of an electric bicycle will be increased to 500 euros, and many projects are underway with associations to provide advice to cyclists on the practice or repair of their bicycle.
