China today confirmed its support for the establishment of a WHO-led committee to review the world's response to the post-epidemic coronavirus.
"The review process should be conducted in an open, transparent and inclusive manner and under the supervision of the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tidros Adanum Gebresos, and it should take place at an appropriate time after the end of the epidemic," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Shuning told AFP today.
Hua also stressed that the investigation must be based on international health rules and be authorized by the World Health Assembly or the Executive Board, which are the two governing bodies of the World Health Organization.
Several US officials have recently been directing indiscriminate accusations to China that they are the origin of the Corona virus and that they are concealing information about it, but China has rejected this, stressing that it is an attempt to politicize the epidemic.
