Not escaping the economic consequences of the health crisis, many families of the 370,000 pupils of French schools and lycées abroad are in great difficulty, according to the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), which was recently heard before the Senate. These parents are furious and let it be known through petitions and letters. In the crosshairs: the tuition fees judged to be out of proportion compared to the “ service rendered ” from a distance by the teachers. They spend on average around 5,000 euros per year and often finance part of the teachers' salaries. Some schools will be permanently weakened by the crisis.
