In the light of the Corona crisis, the Bayrischzell town council decided on its budget plan. No new debts are planned.

Bayrischzell - The Corona crisis is also weakening the budgetary act of the municipality of Bayrischzell: the small exit and tourism resort on Wendelstein has suffered an unprecedented financial slump due to the exit restrictions imposed. In the recent council meeting, Mayor Georg Kittenrainer spoke of "many unknown factors" that have an impact on local tourism, since nobody knows exactly how the closure will work and how things will continue after the gradual easing.

The winter was all the more gratifying, as it gave the municipality "good income" for the tourist tax (90,000 euros) in the first three months of the year. But now summer is just around the corner: this season is often underestimated in terms of the Wendelstein community, the mayor emphasized. Vice Mayor Egid Stadler also commented on the current situation: "This year we are particularly hard hit in tourism." Stadler all the more reaffirmed the regional strength of "Urlaub Dahoam". In his opinion, holidaymakers will increasingly use regional offers this year, "we needn't be afraid".

Despite the foreseeable loss of tourism, the municipality is satisfied with its budget: "Thanks to the good tax power, we can reliably carry out our compulsory tasks," said treasurer Josef Teucher. The circular allocation also decreased slightly. The treasurer is particularly pleased that the debt level has decreased further. "At the end of the year, the debt will amount to around 1.93 million euros."

The largest construction sites in Bayrischzell this year are the establishment of the central village development plan and fire protection in the primary school. According to the mayor, the staircase there must be fire-proof, the doors sealed smoke-tight and the apartment on the upper floor renovated. Furthermore, the asphalting of Rudolf-Holzmann-Straße is pending - the municipality estimates the costs for school and street at around half a million euros. Kittenrainer: "This is a reasonable budget that we can get through without new debt." The local council also saw it that way and passed it unanimously.
