The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tiedros Adhanum Gebresos, announced that the volume of funding shortfalls in the WHO plan to tackle the new epidemic of Corona until the end of this year will amount to 1.3 billion dollars.
"The updated plan assumes that the World Health Organization will need $ 1.7 billion by the end of 2020 to combat Covid 19," Giberisus was quoted by Russia Today as saying at a news conference in Geneva.
"These estimates include the sums received by the World Health Organization so far, but the WHO plan to combat Covid 19 is missing $ 1.3 billion," Gebresos added.
It is noteworthy that US President Donald Trump announced on the 14th of last month the suspension of US funding for the World Health Organization, citing what he called the "mismanagement" of the United Nations organization for the crisis of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
