The Ministry of Education has completed its preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of public certification exams for the 2020 session, in which the total number of students enrolled in it reached 557,348 students.
In a statement to the SANA delegate, Younes Fati, Director of Examinations at the Ministry of Education, stated that the students registered for the general secondary certificate were distributed to 81157 in the literary branch, of whom 25460 are legal, 55,697 are free, and 128,870 are in the scientific branch, of whom 84,730 are legal and 44,140 are free.
Fati pointed out that the number of pupils registered for the basic education certificate is 301,145, of whom 24,995 are statutory and 51,150 are free. The number of students enrolled in the vocational secondary with its commercial, industrial and women's specializations is 39,853, of whom 2,2988 are legal and 16,865 are free.
Fati pointed out that the number of applicants for Sharia preparatory exams reached 4499 students, and for the Sharia secondary school, 1824 students, noting that the percentage of free students in Sharia education is very small compared to the rest of the certificates in addition to the percentage of students' demand to register as a free study in the literary branch more than twice the regular students, unlike the scientific branch The number of regular students was more than double the free students.
As for free students in the basic education certificate, Fati indicated that their percentage reached only 20 percent, and this confirms the commitment of students of the compulsory school age to enroll in school.
With regard to the examination centers, Fati clarified that the number reached 4,900 exam centers, including 2501 for the basic education certificate, 1242 for the scientific branch, 757 for the literary branch, 31 for the Islamic high school, 60 for the legal preparatory and 409 for the secondary professional certificate, stressing that the exam centers were distributed to the provincial and city centers with regard to high school and in the areas of the primary education certificate In addition to the cities and the governorate center, care was taken to take the necessary measures to ensure the safety and health of students, as approximately 15 to 20 students were distributed in the same examination hall and would be sterilized periodically before the start of any exam.
