Sixteen migrants rescued in the English Channel

Rescue and the maritime authorities recovered on the night of Friday 8 to Saturday 9 sixteen migrants, including a child, on a boat in difficulty in the English Channel while they were trying to reach Great Britain, according to the maritime prefecture.

Around 03:30, the migrants on board the boat " with engine failure " called the emergency services who located the boat about 6km from the coast north of Calais (Pas-de-Calais), reports the maritime prefecture of La Manche and of the North Sea in a press release.

A coastal maritime surveillance speedboat from the maritime gendarmerie rescued them around 5:00 am and brought them back to Dunkirk (North), " all safe and sound ". They were presented to the border police (PAF).
