The national table of Together for Change expressed its concern about the Government's announcement regarding the obligation to use the CuidAR application for citizens who return to work and have a circulation permit, in the new phase of the coronavirus pandemic in Argentina.

Through a statement, they pointed out that although "technology can be very useful in this phase of the pandemic, to trace possible contacts of those infected and, if necessary, isolate them, " the use that the government may give it is worrying. to this enormous amount of data on the citizens to which you will have access. "

On Friday, the Executive announced that those who go to work should use the CuidAr application, which allows locating people by geolocation, through the GPS of cell phones.

Immediately, the opposition deputies presented a request for reports, due to the personal data collected by the application when installed.

Now, the JxC table headed by Alfredo Cornejo, Patricia Bullrich and Maximiliano Ferraro proposed the creation of an "expert committee" to analyze the application from its source code, along with "the presence of computer prosecutors in the monitoring centers that feed This application".

"We also consider that the participation in the process of the Directorate of Judicial Assistance in Complex Crimes and Organized Crime (Dajudeco), dependent on the Supreme Court of Justice, is mandatory, since they are the only ones authorized in our legislation to intervene in the monitoring and geolocation of people, expressed in the statement.

"We ask for transparency and openness of information so that there are no doubts regarding the use of user data , and even more so when it comes to individual rights and freedoms," they concluded from the main opposition force.

The CuidAR app is already used by more than 1.5 million people, who can choose whether they allow the Government to locate them by GPS geolocation while using the application or even when they are not using it.
