A man was indicted for murder and imprisoned on Saturday, prosecuted for stabbing two fathers who came to his home in Charleville-Mézières, accusing him of wanting to drag their sons into drugs.
This 36-year-old man, without a criminal record and unemployed, admitted in police custody that he had stabbed, claiming to have acted in self-defense "out of fear, following the attack of which he had been the victim ", reported in a statement the public prosecutor of Reims, Matthieu Bourrette.
" The two victims had presented themselves alcoholic at his home, to fight it out according to the suspect, accusing him of wanting to involve their sons in the consumption and trafficking of drugs, which he denied, " said the magistrate.
The suspect claimed to be a simple consumer, in particular of cannabis, and to have supplied " in small quantities of narcotic products " the son of one of the two fathers who came to find him at his home Thursday evening.
One of them, born in 1983, a car repairman, died overnight in the hospital as a result of his stab wounds. The second, a storekeeper born in 1963, was seriously injured but his life is not in danger.
The suspect, arrested at his home, had " traces of injuries ". He was charged with murder and attempted murder and placed in pre-trial detention, in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution.
