Government ministers approved cancellation of hotel isolation obligation for returnees to Israel - but they will still need to stay in isolation for two weeks in their home • More parks have been opened and fitness equipment used in them • Amusement facilities will remain closed

The end of the "Corona Hotels": The Israeli government decided (on Sunday) new steps in the cancellation of emergency measures aimed at curbing the spread of the Corona virus in Israel, in light of the apparent success in dealing with the Corona disease.

Defense Minister Naftali Bennett referred to the decision on Twitter and thanked the Home Front Command for operating the hotels. "Great news for returnees from abroad: From now on, anyone returning from abroad will be able to come home and have an effective 14-day home isolation, and will not have to stay in isolation hotels. Thanks to Home Front Command soldiers for the excellent operation of the hotels," the minister wrote.

Great news for overseas returnees:

From now on, anyone returning from overseas will be able to come home and have an effective 14-day home isolation, and will not have to stay in isolation hotels.

The government has decided to cancel the bill in the hotel and settle for domestic isolation, a step that the National Security Council has recommended last week. Instead of a melon, people coming back from abroad who can show the ability to maintain a home isolation can have it under police supervision. In addition, even those who are already staying in a hotel but want to get out of the house and move to home isolation can do so.

More on:

• Significant: Automatic isolation in return hotels will be canceled

• Approved: Returns from overseas will be sent for isolation in hotels

• Return to routine: The Corona Hotel will close

Also, according to the proposal of the Minister of Public Security, Gilad Arden, another method will be implemented to enforce the isolation. The regime will take responsibility for the supervision and enforcement of the isolation and for this purpose it will receive 250 inspectors from the Ministry of the Interior. The inspectors will make home visits with an operational bias determined by the police.

At the same time, the return to the airport will be divided between the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health and the Airports Authority, with the police responsible for being present throughout the absorption and transportation process of arriving in Israel and assisting other authorities as needed. It is estimated that allowing them to leave the hotels will greatly reduce the number of people staying in them and some may be closed.

In addition, the government has decided to open and use public parks with fitness equipment, despite the opposition of Minister Ze'ev Elkin, who called to wait for this step until the end of the month. Also, the playgrounds will remain closed. Minister Ophir Akunis, who promoted the opening of the facilities earlier today, said that in light of the few infections in recent days, there is no reason to continue the ban.
