You chose the wrong side

The things Ela Hasson has shown with great courage are supposed to shock the figures. If the things suggested are true, we got a glimpse of a rotting culture of hand washing and concern for friends. But those who have experienced the harsh touch of the Israeli judicial system - were not surprised, but received further confirmation of his feelings.

The public debate over the distrust of the judicial system, which has been exposed in the polls time and time again (for example, in a poll published in Israel Today last week), misses a central point: not everything is directly related to politics and intrigue at the top. The legal reporters and commentators have a tendency to seek explanations under the lantern; They are sure that public opinion is only affected by their publications. But much of the distrust stems from direct experience with the system's mechanisms.

Let me tell you what it looks like from the bottom, through the eyes of those forced to run into poverty - from the Bureau of Execution, through the property conferences to the attorneys of the major telecommunications providers or banks, who work in collaboration with a system that resembles small citizens like a devastating guild.

I am not ashamed to name a child by name: combinations, internal closures, siob. A system that can convict at unimaginable rates - 95-85 percent conviction. Public advocacy that does not provide legal representation to the little citizen swinging on the poverty line. The bureaucracy and tough criteria lead to the fact that many times a defendant - sometimes even poor (even if not formally defined) - stands helpless and weakened in front of a judge and prosecutor, the debate goes over his head, as does the plea deal or financial compromise he is often forced to understand or have You must.

And this is also a system that is not under review; A system in which family and friendship relationships between judges and attorneys, from the small court in the periphery to the Supreme Court, are not properly exposed. A system in which convener case managers and corporate and bank lawyers have created a hermetically closed method of eliminating receivables. The things now exposed are the tip of the iceberg. The Israeli public is gradually losing faith in this system because anyone who has ever encountered it from below has understood and felt well about Siyuba and its opacity.

And a word to my friends on the Israeli left who are currently defending a pathos-filled defense of the justice system and the Supreme Court. When you consistently turn a blind eye to the system's Siyuba and its ongoing weakest, and stand to protect it from black threesomes and recommended speeches - don't be surprised that the weakest don't fill the streets next to you, and don't be surprised that they won't vote for you either. You chose the wrong side.
