The fatally injured pedestrian was 16 years old , according to the Federal Police in Frankfurt . The driver and the cyclist, who both suffered serious injuries, are 50 and 52 years old. 

The accident site at the level crossing in Oeserstrasse in Frankfurt  's Nied district was further closed on Friday (May 8th, 2020). "This morning, the federal police investigators will look at the scene of the accident and carry out surveys of witnesses and technical checks to determine why the barrier was open," said Ralf Ströher, spokesman for the federal police in Frankfurt.

A regional train had caught a pedestrian, a cyclist and a car  at a level crossing in Frankfurt's Nied district at around 8 p.m.

The pedestrian did not survive the accident. The driver of the car was seriously injured, and the Frankfurt fire brigade had to rescue her from her vehicle with a hydraulic rescue device. The woman came to a hospital just like the seriously injured cyclist.

Frankfurt: Extensive investigation into fatal train accident in Nied

The federal police in Frankfurt now want to  reconstruct the exact course of the fatal train accident in Nied. According to initial knowledge, the barriers at the level crossing were open. An emergency braking of the train could no longer prevent the collision. 

The site was illuminated for a long time on Thursday evening for the extensive investigation. A total of 70 fire, rescue and emergency services were deployed alongside the police in Nied. Several passersby had observed the accident and had to be given psychological care. The train driver suffered a shock. 

According to the current state of knowledge, one person was fatally injured in the #accident. Two more difficult, of which we had to free one from a car with hydraulic rescue equipment. Additional people from the web are currently being looked after by several # emergency chaplains. ^ am

Around 8 p.m. on Thursday evening (07.05.2020) there was a serious traffic accident at the level crossing on Oeserstrasse in Frankfurt-Nied , in which a train passing through caught a pedestrian, a cyclist and a car. 

The pedestrian was fatally injured by the collision, and the cyclist and driver of the car were seriously injured. The train of the Hessische Landesbahn was heading towards Frankfurt Central Station * when it entered the level crossing area. 

At this point, the gates of the level crossing were open and the train driver immediately initiated an emergency stop, the investigators from Frankfurt report. However, this could no longer prevent the pedestrian, the cyclist and the car from being recorded. No passengers were injured on the train.
