Munich commuter rail commuters have to endure massive problems in rush hour traffic: Nothing works at Ostbahnhof anymore. The state of affairs at a glance:

Munich - On Monday evening, one of the first storm fronts in early summer brushed against Munich - the S-Bahn Munich apparently caught the storm in an unpleasant way: "Due to objects in the overhead line", the Ostbahnhof is completely closed to the S-Bahn.

The problems have a massive impact on S-Bahn traffic. The trunk route is also badly affected, some lines are diverted, others end prematurely at the Isartor. Changes and failures must also be noted on the outer branches, in some cases there are replacement services by bus or taxis. The S-Bahn trains at ten-minute intervals are eliminated everywhere.

The current status of the disruption according to Deutsche Bahn (as of 6:25 p.m.):

S1 Freising / Flughafen: The S-Bahn starts / ends in Moosach. Alternatively, please use the underground lines U 2 Feldmoching or U 3 Moosach and change accordingly.

S2 Petershausen / Altomünster - Erding: The S-Bahn will be diverted between Obermenzing and Ostbahnhof (long-distance train) and the main route will not be used. The Leuchtenbergring and Berg am Laim stops are no longer required. Blockage between Feldkirchen and Markt Schwaben. Replacement bus and taxi services are set up between Munich East and Markt Schwaben. There is an S-Bahn shuttle service between Markt Schwaben and Erding.

S3 Holzkirchen: The S-Bahn starts / ends in Giesing. Alternatively, you can switch here to the U 2 underground line.

S3 Mammendorf: The S-Bahn starts / ends at the Isartor.

S4 Geltendorf: The S-Bahn starts / ends at Munich Hbf, platform 27-36. The Hackerbrücke stop is no longer required.

S6 Tutzing - Ebersberg: The S-Bahn will be diverted between Pasing and Ostbahnhof (long-distance train) and the main route will not be used. The Leuchtenbergring and Berg am Laim stops are no longer required.

S7 Wolfratshausen: Blockage between Höllriegelskreuth and Wolfratshausen. Replacement rail transport with buses and taxis set up from 6:30 p.m. S 7 Kreuzstraße: The S-Bahn starts / ends in Giesing. Alternatively, you can switch here to the U 2 underground line.

S8 Herrsching: The S-Bahn starts / ends in Pasing.

S8 Airport: The S-Bahn starts / ends in Johanneskirchen. Alternatively, travelers to the airport can take the underground line U4 from Munich Hbf to Arabellapark. From Arabellapark there is a connection to bus 184 to Johanneskirchen.

DB tickets are also recognized in the MVG's means of transport (subway, bus, tram) for the duration of the disruption . The S-Bahn line S 20 is no longer available.
