Deconfinement: the town hall of Paris is putting online a form to obtain a free fabric mask

Distribution takes place in pharmacies. Each mask must be removed while respecting a time slot.

Expected and promised for several weeks, free masks for Parisians are arriving. The mayor of Paris details this Monday the procedure to obtain a copy of this tool to fight the spread of Covid-19.

While the weekend was notably marked by the cessation of the distribution of masks for the elderly due to the complexity of their closure, the town hall offers new ones to recover in pharmacies.

The procedure for obtaining it provides for online registration at this address. A withdrawal date from a pharmacy partner of the operation is then provided. Each Parisian over 11 years old can have a washable cloth mask. The withdrawal is made upon presentation of an identity document and a withdrawal slip. You must respect a half-day time slot.

Registration possible by phone

Certain categories of people have priority for obtaining these masks. These are those over the age of 70, in Long-Term Affection (ALD), PUMa or CSS beneficiaries (ex CMU-C), with disabilities, pregnant women. The order is limited to 6 masks per household.

People without an internet connection can still register. You must call 3975, the number of the city of Paris (cost of a local call). Those who cannot move can have their mask removed by a third person who must present the supporting documents (ID and withdrawal slip).

Two pitfalls accompany this operation. The list of partner pharmacies is not available; this would be assimilated to a "solicitation of customers". In addition, the nearest withdrawal date moves back from hour to hour. Monday afternoon there were already few slots for next week.

Finally, the town hall explains that the masks are only coming now because it first wanted to make donations to the associative and medico-social sectors. 500,000 masks were also distributed to sensitive people. The masks distributed in pharmacies are Afnor certified and manufactured in Ile-de-France.
