"How do I want to make it clear to the audience that I really am like that? No matter what I did, the audience felt it was wrong. Even if I go for a walk with my dog, it means that I only do it in order to appear personable, ”says Kaggwa .
Does she regret having made her life a bit public by participating in GNTM on Pro Sieben ? "These events of the past few weeks are definitely scaring," says the student from Kassel .
However, she does not want to use the word "regret". “Even if some unsightly things happened, there were many great moments during the filming that made me stronger. Above all, the trip and the ever new challenges we faced were far more impressive than I could have imagined. ”

Was it shown differently on GNTM on Pro Sieben than it really is? "A difficult question: I was definitely in an exceptional situation there," says the student from Kassel . Still, she doesn't see herself as the person that many TV viewers see in her. "I am a very honest person and when I say a thousand nice things, I might say ten things that are not so nice."
If Lijana Kaggwa had to describe herself, it would be happy, honest and emotional. “When I am happy, I am extremely happy, when I am sad, I am very sad. If you only ever show these extremes, it can of course look fake. But they are part of me. "

The student has received a lot of encouragement from her family in the past few weeks. "They love me the way I am and that's why the last time was especially difficult for them." Kaggwa grew up as the youngest of four siblings. Her father comes from Uganda, her mother from Kassel .
Heidi Klum says that she has never seen a GNTM candidate as ambitious as Lijana. Kaggwa did not first feel that this type cannot be easy for others at GNTM on Pro Sieben , as she says. And if the model dream should not come true, Kaggwa has an alternative plan: "I would also like to go to work every day as a teacher."
The show has been turned off since March and can be seen on Pro Sieben every Thursday at 8 p.m. Lijana Kaggwa cannot reveal how far she is going. Six candidates are currently still fighting for the top model crown. The finale will take place on Thursday, May 21st due to the corona virus without viewers and will be broadcast live on television.
