Great, but not enough for an Arab minister

That is, almost congratulations. We are just before the inauguration of a government. Almost good luck - even though everything can change, but mainly because this government has almost made history in Israel. In the end, after promises and hopes, she will be like her predecessors. Although larger, it is devoid of any Arab representation. In doing so, the two government leaders actually prove to one-fifth of Arab citizens that this is not their government, after the national law made them feel that it is not even 100 percent their state.

In the last two decades, Arab citizens have been exposed to anti-Arab, racist and even false propaganda, conducted by Knesset members and politicians, mainly from the right. They also claim that the Knesset members are "doing nothing for their public good," but are devoted to Palestinian national causes. This is far from accurate; They are doing what they can, certainly given the fact that they are regularly in opposition, from which it is harder for any Knesset member to advance policy.

But alongside the negative campaigns against the joint list, hints and promises of the appointment of an Arab minister were scattered here and there. The issue even came up in negotiations and at least three parties promised to present a "leadership alternative" from the Arab public. Air space has also thrown out the names of prominent, experienced and talented personalities who can not only ensure "respect for the sector", but contribute greatly to every field they are entrusted with.

Now, with the establishment of the government, the total disregard for 1.7 million Arab citizens is returning. The Zionist parties that promised to present an alternative deny all their promises, and turn their backs on their voters from the Arab public, and in fact to anyone who expressed their pragmatic political partnership. And most importantly, they push the Arab public into the arms of the common list, and help it lead the Arab public as a viable alternative.

This is exactly the same fatal mistake that is recorded in the name of the initiative to increase the blockage rate, a move that has caused all Arab parties to unite into one bloc that will continue to sit in the Knesset for years, and in its presence will prove the credibility of all the politicians who claim that they do not represent the interstate members. The real of their public. Dear coalition members, Biastham, as they say. You had a chance to fix, and you put out your hand.

I am currently watching a documentary on the Jews of Morocco, some in the positions of ministers and advisers to King Muhammad VI, who resolutely defended the kingdom as equal rights citizens. I am reminded of Copts in Egypt or Circassians in Jordan who, with all the tensions and problems, the administration gives them. Right, this is an incomplete and perhaps inaccurate comparison. Still, I do not give up on the Arab-Israeli dream.
