River is catching up. Little by little, he is organizing his accounts, in the midst of the difficult economic situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, with much of the activities paralyzed around the world, including soccer. From the Núñez club they agreed with San Pablo on a new plan to settle the fine that FIFA imposed for the delay in payments (already fulfilled) of Lucas Pratto's pass. And they sent money to Belgrano for Matías Suárez, to lower the amount of the balance that still remains for that transfer.

Lucas Pratto's pass was the most expensive in River's history. El Oso  arrived in Núñez in January 2018, from San Pablo, in exchange for almost 14 million dollars. But payments were delayed during 2019, a year of economic turmoil in Argentina and constant currency devaluations.

Then, the Brazilian club made a legal claim in FIFA against River for those delays in the payment of fees for the transfer of the striker and they gave him the reason. The opinion from Zurich forced the Argentine entity to pay a sum close to $ 455,000 fine.

This generated that the leadership headed by Rodolfo D'Onofrio had to renegotiate with San Pablo. Even though, as reported from Núñez, they had already met all the quotas for the pass, wrapped in a halo of mystery. Clarín consulted sources from the Brazilian club and they ratified the same. Finally, between both institutions they reached an oral agreement to agree on the payment terms of those $ 455,000.

On the other hand, River paid a part of one of the two installments that remain to be won by Suárez. He transferred $ 130,000 to Belgrano's account and has another $ 120,000 left to settle in the remainder of this month. Once that commitment has been fulfilled, he will lack a quota of 550 thousand dollars ahead of him to conclude with 100% of the purchase of the Cordovan, who a few days ago turned 32 years old.

This situation made the president of Belgrano change his mind. Jorge Franceschi had been very hard on his “Millionaires” peers. He had said that "they are not people who honor his word" and that "he does not live up to River." He even threatened to make a claim at FIFA. However, now he backed down. "It was a moment of fever. I had expressions they do not correspond to what I think of them. I always had a good relationship and everything is going to be on track, "said the top leader of the Córdoba institution.

Suarez's transfer was made in January 2019. The initial price was set at $ 2,350,000 plus two clauses. The first was $ 250,000 in case the striker exceeded 50% of the official games with River in the year, as it happened. The other consisted of a friendly between both entities with a payment of $ 250,000. Finally, that game was never played and that figure entered the total sum.

Now, the remaining payments for the passes of Fabrizio Angileri and Nicolás De La Cruz remain to be settled, with Godoy Cruz and Liverpool from Uruguay, respectively. To reduce a part of those debts, River is waiting for the 750 thousand dollars that Independiente owes him for the Alexander Barboza pass. This is the chain of payments in times of pandemic.
