With an iconic race, an iconic watch: TAG Heuer is offering a limited edition in tribute to the Monaco Historic Grand Prix.

In Formula 1, the rules are clear: there is one rule for all Grands Prix, and another only for Monaco. Jack Heuer once literally invented the concept of motor sports sponsorship in 1968. At the time, Heuer was not yet TAG Heuer, just a small family business based in Saint-Imier. Jack Heuer, who then manufactured chronometers, dashboard counters and chronographs designed for racing, signed the first sponsorship agreement in the history of Formula 1 with a driver, Jo Siffert. A watchmaking tribute to the Historic Monaco Grand Prix

This year, TAG Heuer was to become official sponsor and timekeeper of the Grand Prix of Monaco Historique in addition to offering the official watch of the Monaco Grand Prix and the official watch of the Monaco Automobile Museum. The 12th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, which was to take place from May 8 to 10, 2020 on the legendary circuit of Monaco, had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But TAG Heuer still presents a special edition piece in tribute to this prestigious event and to the Monaco collection.

The bi-annual weekend of the Historic Monaco Grand Prix is one of the highlights of the classic car racing calendar, with more than 200 grand prix cars representing 50 automobile brands. Selected according to their historical value and their degree of originality, they compete in seven categories covering the period from the 1930s to the 1970s.

This limited edition TAG Heuer Monaco dedicated to the Monaco Historic Grand Prix takes up the emblematic red and white colors of the principality. It is presented in a red case decorated with a racing flag with a chessboard pattern. The small silver logo representing an old car of the Grand Prix of Monaco Historique, located at 1 o'clock on the brushed red dial, immediately associates this special edition with the historic race. Produced in a limited edition of 1000 copies, each watch has a unique engraved number and the words "One of 1000".

The stainless steel case-back of this still square TAG Heuer Monaco is adorned with a transparent sapphire crystal and engraved with the Monaco Historic Grand Prix logo. Through it, we can see the TAG Heuer Caliber Heuer 02 mechanical manufacture movement, comprising a total of 168 components, including a column wheel and a vertical clutch. This movement offers an 80-hour power reserve.

This Monaco Historic Grand Prix is available for pre-order on the website www.tagheuer.com and in certain TAG Heuer stores.
