The Italian Civil Protection Agency announced that the deaths due to Covid 19 disease caused by the emerging corona virus reached 179 cases today compared to 165 cases the previous day, while the number of new infections decreased to 744 from 802 yesterday.
Reuters quoted the agency as saying that the total number of deaths since the start of the outbreak on February 21 amounted to 30,039, the third highest number of deaths in the world after the United States and Britain.
The number of confirmed cases reached 219814, which is the fifth highest number of cases in the world after the United States, Spain, Britain and Russia.
This is the lowest number of new infections announced since March 4.
