Good news for food lovers! Cédric Grolet reopened his bakery-pastry shop on avenue de l'Opéra (Paris 2e), from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Even better, the talented pastry chef with 1.5 million subscribers on Instagram is launching online ordering on his new site cedric-grolet.com, coming to pick up from Cédric Grolet Opéra. “So no disappointment for customers who came to taste the strawberry pie or the pain au chocolat. With click and collect they are sure to get what they want on D-Day! ” explains the 30-year-old, who had closed shop since March 14.

“Just before confinement, we started working on the creation of a website with my teams and Pierre Tachon. The confinement will at least have had the merit of giving us time to organize ourselves to create a click and collect that allows my customers to be able to organize their outings, reduce travel and above all avoid queuing outside the store. ” says the pastry chef of Meurice, who says he is very concerned about the health of his teams as well as his customers. " I didn't want to reopen to reopen, we had to organize, equip the shop to respect barrier gestures and ensure everyone's safety, reduce the team and set up new schedules ... I was, I am and I will remain a great maniac! ”

No need to queue to offer you pastries, pastries, sandwiches and premium breads! Only imperative: take it in advance since the order is made 48 hours before the withdrawal - the preparation times being longer due to the new hygiene standards and the very reduced team organization linked to the Covid-19. Payment for take-away sales is made online only, with a minimum order of € 15. The products are available in individual format, 4, 6 and 8 people.

Hazelnut flower and fruit baskets

As of today, you can either go there or place your order online for a first withdrawal on May 14, in order to take away, on the pastry side: croissant, pain au chocolat, hazelnut flower and fruit flower ( a novelty). “I love fruit, it's no secret. We are arriving in my favorite months and this year we will surprise you with our fruit pies but especially the baskets. Fresh fruit, a fruit marmalade, a light vanilla cream, almond cream; all in a crisp, buttered croissant dough. A delight! The perfect mix between pastry and bakery! ” explains the chef, who will also offer vanilla flower, Paris Brest, vanilla flan, chocolate cake and fruit and chocolate chip cookies.

On the bread side: the traditional baguette, cereal bread and foccacia. As for the sandwiches, you will find the classic butter ham, a vegetarian sandwich (homemade foccacia with stracciatella, tomatoes and pesto) and the avocado toast. Finally, the May flower (hazelnut or pistachio), produced in collaboration with Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse, is also available on the site and in stores.

“We were eager to find the lab with the team and get back to creating and economically it was important to be able to relaunch part of the activity! But what is certain is that this crisis makes us think about how to rethink our stores for the world of tomorrow. ” analysis by Cédric Grolet.
