The president of the Cuban-Syrian Friendship Group in the Cuban Parliament called for left-wing William Oliviero to lift unilateral western economic coercive measures on Syria, especially in light of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic in the world, renewing its solidarity with it.
Oliviero said in statements published on the Cuban Parliament website that these unjust measures hinder the efforts made by the Syrian government in the face of the Corona pandemic and it is not justified in any way and is considered a criminal act against the Syrian people at a time when humanity is living in a global crisis.
Oliviero pointed out that solidarity and international cooperation constitute the most effective way to confront this pandemic in the world, and she renewed the solidarity of the Cuban parliamentary friendship group with Syria, the people, the government, and parliament, expressing its confidence that Syria will overcome all adversity.
Oliviero also confirmed, during a telephone conversation with the Syrian ambassador to Cuba, Dr. Idris Mia, the Cuban parliament's solidarity with Syria, and said that Cuba was and will remain on the side of Syria, especially in the current circumstances, noting the importance of strengthening relations between the parliaments of the two countries, including the interest of the two peoples and the two friendly countries, noting historical and militant relations That links Cuba and Syria.
