On Friday, two accidents happened almost simultaneously on the Kesselberg. Around 6:15 p.m. a Munich (26) crashed with his Kawasaki - and a bit further a motorcyclist (49) from Germering. According to his own information, a pothole was to blame for the fact that he left the road at around 6:25 p.m. when driving downhill towards Kochel in a left turn, the police said. He was brought to the Murnau accident hospital with a minor shoulder injury. There was property damage of around 1000 euros.
Cyclist dies on tour at the Herzogstand
An approximately 55-year-old cyclist from near Munich had died on the same day at the Herzogstand. According to Wasserwacht Walchensee and Bergwacht Kochel, he was on the road in the lower part of the mountain when he got serious health problems. Hikers tried to resuscitate him when the alarm went off at 1 p.m. The mountain rescue team Kochel, the helicopter "Christoph München", the "helpers on site" Walchensee and the crisis intervention service moved in. But the help was - in spite of the smooth cooperation of all organizations, "said the mountain rescue - in vain.
Injured cyclist was transported from Kesselberg by helicopter
According to Wasserwacht, however, the injuries sustained by a cyclist on Wednesday when he came up the Kesselberg from Urfeld were “not threatening”. After a fall, he was flown to the accident clinic by the "Christoph Murnau" helicopter.
The Bergwacht Kochel came to the aid of an approximately 60-year-old hiker from Augsburg on Thursday at 2 p.m. She had fallen on the way to the Orterer Alm and had injured her leg. The mountain rescue service brought them to the hiking car park in Pessenbach after the first aid.
