An Israeli soldier was killed on Tuesday (May 12th) by a rock thrown at him by a Palestinian in the northern occupied West Bank, the Israeli army reported.

Sergeant Amit Ben Ygal, 21, was hit in the head " this morning during an operation near the village of Yabad, west of Jenin, " the military said in a statement. A military spokeswoman told AFP that the projectile was fired by a Palestinian.
