Within the framework of the rehabilitation plan for the National Hospital in Daraa, the General Authority of the hospital is continuing at a high rate of restoration of several main departments that have been vandalized and destroyed by terrorist attacks.
Dr. Bassam Al-Hariri, Director of the Commission, stated in a statement to the SANA correspondent that it is expected to finish the work of restoring the operations departments, neurosurgery, eye diseases, obstetrics and gynecology hospital early next July, pointing out that the restoration of the operations department and the obstetrics hospital is carried out in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program.
Al-Hariri indicated that the operations department includes 11 operating rooms for all types of surgeries except for gynecologists, and that the maternity hospital is three floors and includes forty beds for patients' stay, two operating rooms, two rooms for labor and one for intensive care in addition to an ambulance room, three Eco rooms, one room for cervical endoscopy, a laboratory and radiology department.
It is noteworthy that the National Hospital in Daraa contained 440 beds in the beginning of 2011 and includes all departments and specialties, but the terrorist war and targeting the repeated hospital with missiles removed large parts of it from service and the number of beds in it decreased to 180 beds at the present time.
