Impatience wins the mayors of big cities. Without waiting for the Scientific Council report to be delivered - on May 23 - they overwhelmingly plead for the organization of the second round of municipal elections in June. Even if "it is the management of the health crisis that prevails, it becomes out of the question to postpone the second round any longer if things continue to evolve" positively, warns Christian Estrosi, the mayor LR of Nice, who made part of his position to the President of the Republic. He notes that the executive "has already extracted itself from a certain number of recommendations of the Scientific Council" , as for the resumption of the school.

“You have to be consistent. As soon as the government considers that the sanitary conditions make it possible to deconfine the schools, the businesses, the administrations, the companies, perhaps the cafes and the restaurants on June 2, it would actually be logical to proceed to the second round " , supports Gaël Perdriau, the LR mayor of Saint-Étienne.
