The "hate virus" report reveals, among other things through a systematic comparison, the wide resemblance of publications by delegitimators between state, semi-state and terrorist organizations hostile to Israel, most notably Iran, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, and extremist right wing parties, Distributing classic anti-Semitic theories.

In recent weeks, the ministry has been monitoring expressions of legitimacy and anti-Semitism that link the state of Israel and the Jewish people to the outbreak of the Corona virus. The comparison reveals the same use of motifs, bloodlines, and conspiracy theories that include, among other things, blaming Israel and Jews for conspiring to take over the world, deliberately infecting, poisoning and making money. For example, IDF soldiers are accused of deliberately infecting Palestinians through coughing, similar to the classic anti-Semitic plot whereby Jews infect the world with epidemics.

An expression of the gravity of the situation was recently given by Ahmad Shahid, the UN Special Rapporteur on Religious Freedom, who warned of an increase in anti-Semitism following the spread of the Corona virus, and called for "firm" measures against the phenomenon.

Recall, in a previous report under the name "Behind the Mask," the Office for Strategic Issues revealed over 80 examples in which senior BDS movement officials made statements, images and cartoons of an antisemitic nature, as an integral part of their position against the State of Israel. The "hate virus" illustrates that, contrary to the claims of delegitimisation and BDS, these are widely and deliberately used in blatant anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Minister of Strategic Issues Gilad Arden said about the publication of the report that "The Ministry of Strategic Issues headed by me regularly takes care to expose the ugly faces of inciters and anti-Semites around the world. It is disturbing to discover that, even in a global crisis, there are those who work overtime in the lasso and incite against the Jewish people. And this time, sponsored by the Corona. In light of this, I urge the countries of the world to take a firm stance against hate speech and anti-Semitism, especially at this time, there is no room for such discourse! We will continue to fight with all our might against the haters of Israel. "
