4,922 municipalities concerned
First, remember that only 4,922 municipalities are affected. For the 30,143 others, it has been settled since March 15. The majority teams from the first round were elected once and for all. In Reims, Toulon, Angers, Boulogne-Billancourt or Caen, and especially in 87.5% of the municipalities with 3,500 inhabitants, it is settled. No need to return to the polls. Even if it is necessary to wait between May 23 and 28 for the elected municipal councils to formally appoint their mayors and their assistants.
