An uproar following the news on Wednesday evening (Wednesday) that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered Miri Regev the foreign portfolio with the rotation. According to the publication, Regev will serve in the upcoming government as minister of transportation, and after the Prime Minister's exchange of views with Netanyahu and Benny Gantz, she will receive the foreign portfolio, which Gabi Ashkenazi will leave to replace the blue and white chairman as defense minister.
One of the Likud officials told "Israel Today" in response to the announcement: "Until I hear from Netanyahu that this is a real proposal - I will not believe it. The whole idea sounds like a hallucination. Miri does not fit in a place where diplomacy and state need it."
The report came after Regev's name rose as a candidate for the internal security case, but eventually outgoing Justice Minister Amir Ohana received it. On Netanyahu's side, another proposal came to Regev - the transport portfolio with broad powers - which Regev did not rush to accept.
