An Afghan jihadist movement affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for the suicide attack in the eastern province of Nangarhar, which on Tuesday killed 24 people and injured 68, reported the site SITE Intel Group, an organization American who follows the activity of Islamist extremism.

The attack was committed at the funeral of a police chief, who was attended by national officials and a member of parliament, said a spokesman for the provincial executive, fearing that the toll would worsen.

In addition, armed men attacked a hospital in the capital, Kabul, where the humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) takes care of a maternity hospital, killing at least 16 people, including two newborn babies.
