Kilian Körner (Greens) and Reiner Höcherl from the Free Voters will in future be the second and third mayors to complete the mayor team in Neubiberg with the new town hall chief Thomas Pardeller (CSU).

Neubiberg - At the constituent meeting of the newly elected municipal council on Monday, the two former mayor candidates were unanimously elected to the new offices. The parties had previously agreed on this constellation. There were no opposing candidates in the elections for both alternate posts.

In the event that all three incumbents should be unable to attend at the same time, the Council has ensured adequate further representation. In this case, the previous mayor, Volker Buck (SPD), will act as interim town hall chief. Neubiberg thus remained true to his regulation to provide for the oldest member of the municipal council.

Change in the fraction peaks

There were also changes at the top of the political groups of the parties represented in the Council. The CSU appointed Leon Bogner as the new spokesman and Hartmut Lilge as his deputy. With the Greens, Lucia Kott, a new councilor, is advocating for the parliamentary group. Frederik Börner is her deputy. In the Free Voters, Reiner Höcherl was also elected Group Chairman in tandem with Deputy Jürgen Knopp. Elisabeth Gerner, who was unsuccessful in the mayoral elections, will be the new parliamentary group leader of the SPD. Volker Buck acts as representative. The USU student list in cooperation with the FDP is managed by Lukas Jochum without a representative.

A total of ten new and fourteen existing municipal councils were sworn in and the committees were newly appointed. In future, there will also be a separate fire department specialist committee. In the upcoming meetings, new speakers for youth, university, digitization as well as for traffic and mobility will be selected.

These are Pardeller's plans

After being sworn in, the new mayor Thomas Pardeller (CSU) underscored important concerns regarding his upcoming term. The focus should be on “dialogue with the citizens”. Pardeller particularly focused on the topics of mobility and traffic with the further expansion of bus and rail transport and the much-discussed clearing of the S-Bahn on the main street in Neubiberg. To this end, he wants to digitize community work in a future-proof way and generate “modern, attractive workplaces” in the town hall.

Pardeller left open in detail how the “Citizens Center 2022” project should continue after the recent project stop. He defended the project stop again and also wants to take the Unterbiberg district into account when planning new projects. Despite major project challenges, Pardeller made no secret of "hard, necessary austerity measures", especially against the background of the corona pandemic. "Those who promise the blue of the sky will wake up in gray," said Pardeller. The new mayor also emphasized that there should be no taboos in order to be able to manage other major projects. Pardeller made particular reference to the plans for the chapel field in Unterbiberg. Of course, flood protection and the preservation of green areas must be given priority. But trade should not be ruled out there either with regard to the important tax revenue.
