Anyone looking for an answer to the sputtering negotiations with the right is better off abandoning the political fields. For Netanyahu, what's wrong with a sweet revenge for his hatred? • Interpretation

After yesterday's exchange of allegations, which had already begun in the morning, Netanyahu and Bennett arranged to meet. Hours later, the Netanyahu bureau asked to schedule a phone call between the two instead of a meeting. During the conversation Bennett asked Netanyahu: "Why did you appoint Yuli Edelstein to the Minister of Health? He did not ask for the job at all." At first, Netanyahu did not answer. After a brief pause, he dismissed something in style: "I should have given him a serious case," and quickly cut the call.

Anyone who wants to find the answer to the sputtering negotiations with the right is better off abandoning the search in the political fields. That's not where the answer is. Because politically, Netanyahu had every reason in the world to close with the right, and as quickly as possible. The Likud's stomach hurts. While the new government will apply sovereignty in the communities of Judea and Samaria, it is probably the only right thing it will do.

Other issues related to settlement will be stopped, and the rule of officials and legal advisers will intensify to dimensions that have never existed, with no deliberate caring hand and in the absence of a built-in majority for the necessary changes in the government and the Knesset. The right-wing during the government's term, when in a year and a half he will be taking on the role of prime minister, the left-wing bloc Benny Gantz, who will lead the country's affairs from now on.

Not only for religious Zionism, but also for the Likudite base, Netanyahu had to have a crucial consideration for the right-wing party's entry into government. The area in his house will be calmer when Naphtali Bennett, Ayelet Shaked and Bezalel Smutrich are members of the coalition, not attacking him to the right for anything possible from the opposition. Of the National Camp parties, this is a commodity that only the right can provide to Netanyahu. Neither Aryeh Deri nor Jacob Litzman or Moshe Gaffney are relevant in this regard.

Still, contrary to all political logic, Netanyahu chose not to fight the entry of Naftali Bennett and his colleagues. Because the right districts to look for the motives are probably in the realm of psychoanalysis. It is inevitable that if headed by another person, such as Smutrich or Rabbi Peretz, the negotiations would progress to the signing of an agreement just as with the Haredi parties, much earlier, and the right bloc would be fully preserved. But that is not the case.

At the top right is not Smutrich or Rabbi Peretz, but Naftali Bennett. Although sometimes the two seemed to cooperate and the buds of trust, as in their rare coordination on security issues, did not take long and it became clear that all this was nothing more than an optical mirage. Even if Netanyahu needs Bennett and is required to pay him in positions and respects, he will never believe in him. And not in it. In Ayelet Shaked.

It is absurd to give up right

The right must be in government to keep Netanyahu on the right

Negotiations with Likud failed: Right Party decided - "We will serve the right from the opposition"

But there are elements in the political system that do not explain this explanation enough. Netanyahu is a seasoned and experienced politician most of all. In the past, it has already been proven that any personal or other consideration recedes to a momentary political need.

So, by that logic, Bennett had to get along too. Just as he knew how to give him the security he needed, so now he had to give him the health file and close interest. However, according to the same assessment, Netanyahu does not need Bennett, as he no longer needs anyone in the political system. In fact, the trial and election results overwhelmed him. In a year and a half, Netanyahu has an expiration date.

If he made the decision to retire from political life, no one could threaten him anymore. And if that is the case, what is wrong with some sweet revenge for his hatred of being left out now, with Yair Lapid and the joint list.
