The new municipal council also adhered to the good old Poinger custom - and accordingly occupied the posts of the 2nd and 3rd mayors without discussion and dissenting votes.

Poing - For Thomas Stark, it was already the 6th constituent meeting of a town or city council in which he was jointly responsible as an assistant. Be it earlier, when he was still working in the town hall in his hometown of Marktredwitz, be it in the past 30 years in Poing, where he was, among other things, a manager. "But for the first time today is a constituent session in which I myself play the leading role," he said at the beginning. Starring as the new 1st Mayor of Poing.

With the first meeting of the new municipal council in the triple gymnasium not only the era of ex-mayor Albert Hingerl (SPD) came to an end on Tuesday evening , but also that of Franz Langlechner (CSU) as the second mayor. He has been Hingerl's deputy for the past 20 years.

In contrast to Hingerl, who no longer ran in the local elections, Langlechner started again and was re-elected to the municipal council. However, he is no longer the 2nd mayor - because all factions have complied with the unwritten law of the Poingen municipal council, which has been in effect for over 20 years: the second-strongest faction provides the 2nd mayor, the third-strongest the 3rd mayor.

Because the new 1st Mayor Thomas Stark had been on the list of the CSU, the parliamentary groups agreed in advance that the SPD (six seats) would get the 2nd and the Greens (five seats) the 3rd mayor. The CSU itself has seven mandates in the new municipal council, Mayor Stark is impartial. Furthermore: FWG four seats and FDP two seats.

Because everyone adhered to the good Poinger custom , there was only one candidate for the office of 2nd and 3rd mayor: Reinhard Tonollo (SPD) and Werner Dankesreiter (Greens). Tonollo received 23 of the possible 24 votes (one ballot was without a name and therefore invalid), thank-you riders also received 23 votes (on the 24th slip was the name of his parliamentary colleague Sieglinde Pehl).

As the longest-serving member of the municipal council , Franz Langlechner was reserved to swear in the new 1st mayor Thomas Stark. Before the time came, the former 2nd mayor said a few words to the newly assembled municipal council and around 20 visitors to the inaugural meeting. "In the current Corona crisis situation , it may be a good thing if a new mayor does not need a long start-up period," Langlechner began his short speech. Stark has been working in senior positions in the Poingen town hall for 30 years, in the 20 years in office of his predecessor Albert Hingerl he was the office manager and manager of the town hall.

Langlechner said to the entire municipal council: “The number of members has brought the factions closer together. As a result, the pressure for even more cooperation is stronger. ”In the end , he appealed to everyone“ that we can quickly get out of the campaign mode ”.

After his swearing-in, Thomas Stark also emphasized that the Poingen municipal council should continue to “ treat each other fairly ” and discuss it objectively. Disagreements should never be settled below the belt. He himself announced that he would be open to any dialogue. " We can become a good team, " he said to all 24 council members.

With a view to future tasks and plans, Mayor Stark announced that the budget and financial planning may need to be revised because it is not foreseeable what effects the Corona crisis will have on the municipal budget . Among other things, he wanted to advance the already started mobility and youth concept.

At the end of the session, Stark thanked Franz Langlechner and Günther Scherzl (FWG), who had previously been the 3rd mayor. And he distributed champagne bottles to all council members because the usual champagne reception had to be canceled due to Corona.

Another era has come to an end in the Poing municipal council: after 30 years, Rainer Koch, President of the Bavarian Football Association and 1st Vice President of the German Football Association, is no longer present.
