Garmisch-Partenkirchen - She had a cheat sheet with her oath: Elisabeth Koch (CSU) would not have needed it. The new mayor of Garmisch-Partenkirchen was sworn in at the inaugural meeting of "age president" Alois Schwarzmüller (SPD) on Wednesday. The town hall manager later took on the role of her deputy.

The municipal council elected Claudia Zolk as second mayor with 23 votes. The first words of the CSB parliamentary group leader: "I am totally touched." Sportswoman Lisa Schnitzer handed her the chain of office. "Very difficult," said Zolk. The 48-year-old was the only candidate after Lilian Edenhofer (free voters) - against her announcement - rejected. Wolfgang Bauer (CSU), who previously held the position but was not proposed, received eight votes.
