The victim, Breonna Taylor, and her boyfriend were sleeping in their apartment, the lawyer said, when the police broke into the apartment looking for a suspect. There, the police shot the  26-year-old paramedic . The incident occurred on March 13, but was only made public as the lawyer of the affected family was only now making the tragedy public . The officials are said to have been looking for a suspect, who has been detained for eight years .

In the United States: Police officers shoot a young medic - her victim was actually detained

The police officers are said to  have shot the African American eight times . According to reports, Taylor's friend has been detained for attempted murder since he shot the police officers who murdered his girlfriend during the night, as the holder of a gun license. As the responsible lawyer reports, the responsible police officers have so far not been held accountable . The police have neither commented on the circumstances of "this tragedy" nor have they assumed responsibility for the "senseless killing" of Taylor, the lawyer criticized.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said, "My priority is to get the truth out and justice." The case is currently being investigated, but points out that police work could create "incredibly difficult situations" .
