The Holzkirchner holding company Southern Blue wants to build a large technology center with campus on almost two hectares of land at the Sitecpark.

Bad Tölz - The target group are companies from the fields of new materials, medical and energy technology. In the building committee, the building application for production buildings, offices and warehouses was approved on Tuesday.

It sounds like a very ambitious and interesting commercial project that is to be built on the sloping, 18,000 square meter plot of land to the west of Bundesstraße 13.

Talks are also continuing with Biolink

In the committee, the project was treated more like a common proposal on Tuesday and waved through without discussion in five minutes. This was also followed in the audience by the managing director of Southern Blue, Hannspeter Schubert, until the end of 2019 also board member of the listed industrial holding Blue Cap, based in Munich, which invests specifically in medium-sized companies. A brief press release from Southern Blue on the Tölzer project followed on Wednesday. The company did not want to comment on inquiries. In due course, one would stir if the project became concrete. The website is currently under construction. According to the press release, Southern Blue has been an investment company for 25 years and is oriented towards “companies that are both innovation-driven and connected to nature and ethical corporate culture”.

The meadow at the Sitecpark was acquired by the adhesive tape manufacturer Biolink a few years ago in order to move its location from Waakirchen to Bad Tölz. After the takeover of the company, however, the plans had initially been shattered (we reported).

The Southern Blue press release states that the site was acquired by the city in 2017 and that Biolink may be one of the companies to be located in the technology park. In any case, it is said to be in discussion.

Event and training facilities planned

Background: Biolink was once part of the Planatol group of companies, which in turn was part of the Blue Cap Holding with the board of directors Schubert. So the circle would close again. Otherwise, the composition of the companies is not yet concrete. New materials, medical and energy technology are the subject areas. According to the press release, "this not only addresses established companies, but also start-ups". In the spirit of the city, not only should environmentally friendly companies settle down, but qualified jobs should also be created.

And why is there talk of a campus as a home for technology companies? Event and training facilities are also planned in the main building. Hannspeter Schubert: "We hope that with this project, in which we are also looking to work with Bavarian universities, we can lay the foundation for a lively and innovative corporate culture."

Construction is not expected to start this year

The planning application from the project company Technologiepark Tölz (Southern Blue stands behind it) concerned several cuboid buildings that should fit into a park-like landscape as a closed unit. The area is accessed by an access road from the Sitecpark street. For cyclists and pedestrians, however, the pedestrian and cycle path along the B 13 should provide access. The committee advocated exemption from the development plan.

Mayor Ingo Mehner finds the concept for the technology park "very interesting", he explained one day after the meeting. “Both the presentation of the campus-style buildings planned with green flat roofs and the concept of wanting to establish environmentally friendly companies are promising. This corresponds absolutely to the direction of the city. ”

And when does it start? Southern Blue spokeswoman Brigitte Altstetter announced that due to the Corona crisis, construction should not start this year. Christoph Schnitzer
