The mask made its appearance in France, with delay and with regret. We have come a long way. Resisting the Salafist provocations was then, and for good reasons, at the top of our agenda. We were facing the “incivilities” of the black mask: harpies in niquab and robbers in hood. As for the white mask, hardly if it existed. It was an element of the medical panoply, or an accessory for Asians (a world apart, Asia, populated by mysterious people: not only do they look alike, but they strive to accentuate their resemblance).
