The increase in the number of infections in the district is suspicious to the district administrator. He warns of negligence. Meanwhile, the number of corona deaths could soon rise sharply.
District - The district office does not yet want to judge whether it is a one-time outlier or a consequence of the easing measures. But: "It is already suspicious," said District Administrator Christoph Göbel about the 16 new infections with the coronavirus, which his health department reported from Wednesday to Thursday. Overall, the development of the contagion numbers is decent, says Göbel at the weekly video press conference. There are no new foci of infection; the 16 cases are scattered across the district and the age groups.
On the credit side, the district administrator records that there is only one affected old people's home, in which only one resident has contracted Covid-19. Göbel said that the easing would lead to more infections, so that it is evidently currently possible to protect the risk group all the more pleasingly.
Seven test centers will remain
As the number of tests in many municipalities is also approaching zero with declining contagions, there are inquiries as to whether the improvised test and treatment centers could now be dismantled. However, the district office will only decide on Pentecost when the effects of the easing are more clearly foreseeable.
In any case, seven test and treatment centers in the seven supply areas of the district should be preserved: the four existing ones in Oberhaching (Hachinger Tal), Graefelfing (West), Ottobrunn (South-East) and Unterföhring (North-East) and not yet named locations in the north, southwest and east of the district. In this way, he wants to remain armed for possible new sources of infection and tracking the path of infection.
If there are 20 to 30 deaths, there is no medical report under the Infection Protection Act
Unfortunately, the Health Department also counts two new deaths, residents of homes over the age of ninety. The total number of 52 deaths could now increase without anyone else having to die: There are currently between 20 and 30 deaths for which there is no medical report under the Infection Protection Act - for various reasons. These "cases in the gray area", according to Göbel, are currently trying to resolve. For example, these could also be recovered corona patients with another cause of death who ultimately could not be included in the corona statistics. For the cases to be noted there, a doctor had to diagnose the lung disease Covid-19 as the cause of death.
