(CNN) - Tottenham Hotspur footballer and England midfielder Dele Alli has recounted his "horrible experience" after apparently being robbed and robbed of his home in north London.
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement confirming that they received a call on Wednesday to go to a home in the Barnet area at 12:35 am, although they did not name Alli.
"Two men managed to break into the property and stole jewelry, including watches, before escaping," the police statement said. “Two male residents on the property suffered minor facial injuries after being mugged. They did not require hospital care. ”
Alli, 24, wrote on Twitter on Wednesday: “Thank you for all the messages. It was a horrible experience, but we are all well. I appreciate the support. ”
Tottenham is encouraging those with information about the incident to report it to the police. There are no arrests yet.
"We have been offering our support to Dele and to those who accompany him in isolation," the club said in a statement.
