● Two novels in one
In 1974, Michel Mohrt (1914-2011) published Deux Indiennes à Paris . More than a quarter of a century later, he proposed the epistolary version of this story under the title Jessica or love freed. New York, Paris, the French Riviera, Italy: we travel a lot in Jessicaand the letters exchanged between the characters draw the receding or cutting lines of crossed loves. At the center of the novel: Pierre Talbot - a sort of double romantic of the author already met in several of his books - and five heroines with whom he maintains relationships of friendship, seduction or love. We are in 1950. Talbot leaves New York to find France and Paris. There, he sees Jessica, a young American met in New York who comes to burn his youth in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
