The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the United States for not responding to Moscow's proposal to build a dialogue between Russian and American experts on the situation in Libya.

The ministry, in a commentary posted on its website, reported that the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov sent to the American side during a working visit to Washington last December a proposal to build a dialogue between the experts of the two countries on "all issues of common interest related to the settlement of the crisis" Libyan. ”

The ministry pointed out that Moscow "has not heard a clear response" from the American side until now.

The Ministry expressed Russia's hope that the American response did not come in the form of the press summary of Christopher Robinson, First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who accused Russia of using "regional conflicts to safeguard its narrow political and economic interests and sabotage the peace process in Libya."

The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that the aforementioned press summary is "bewildering" with a clear bias towards its accusations and even "its complacency with basic diplomatic etiquette."

Russia has repeatedly declared its opposition to any foreign interference in Libya, stressing that it is doing what it can to find a political solution to the crisis in this country.

Libya has been suffering since NATO aggression against it in 2011, a state of chaos and insecurity in light of the proliferation of weapons and terrorist organizations that are trying to impose their influence and control on various cities and regions, while the authorities are currently contesting two main parties: the Al-Wefaq government and the government operating in eastern Libya that the parliament supports in the city of Tobruk And the Libyan army led by Field Marshal Khalifa
