An investigation reveals that the French are overwhelmingly against certain measures still in force in the fight for the Covid-19.

If the French accept many constraints in their daily life to fight against the coronavirus, they are now mainly against certain measures still in force despite the end of confinement on Monday. According to the latest Odoxa survey (*) for Le Figaro and Franceinfo, almost 6 out of 10 asked to reopen the beaches (57%) and that of the parks and gardens (59%). "Our fellow citizens are always very favorable to certain restrictions which seem to them of obvious interest in terms of public health, this is notably the case of the obligation to wear a mask in transport, acclaimed by 95% of French people , underlines Gaël Sliman, president of Odoxa. They are starting to accept less of the other measures, notably the closure of beaches, parks and gardens.

A subject that fuels controversy. “The mayor of Paris is thus in frontal opposition to the government. For once, opinion proves him right. The inhabitants of the Paris agglomeration are 64% opposed to the continued closure of parks and gardens, adds Gaël Sliman. The government may have an interest in addressing these points if it does not want to break the essential support of the French for collective prevention measures. ”

Especially since in the restaurant sector, the French are now hardly more than one in two (53%) to approve "the continued closure of bars and restaurants" against 61% il two weeks ago. The decrease of 8 points observed is no doubt explained by the “lack that this represents for our fellow citizens. Not sure that they can finally wait without getting impatient for June… ” , warns the Odoxa manager.

Finally, the other lesson from this survey shows that the French have not resumed their previous life at all since Monday, May 11. Almost two-thirds (65%) did not leave their homes “more often or longer” . Only the youngest, those under 25, stand out from other age groups: 46% of them have left "longer or longer" . Teleworking is well established in the habits, businesses and staff finding their account: 69% of employees have not returned to work. Contrary to what some experts predicted, the difference according to socio-professional categories (CSP) is limited: 43% of workers have returned to their company against 32% of employees and 38% of managers. On the other hand, there are marked inequalities regarding the return of children to school. The CSP + are more numerous than the CSP- to have re-educated their children (25% against 16%). A total of 83% have not sent their children to school.
