There is truly enough work to do: "We will have to spend around one million euros on improving wastewater disposal," says Pröbst. This affects the seven pumping stations that have to be integrated into the fully electronic control system that is concentrated in the sewage treatment plant. Sewer rinsing and repairs also belong in this package, which after its implementation will force a new calculation of the fees in Wartenberg. It is already foreseeable: "The wastewater fees will have to rise significantly." Wartenberg does not really get by here. The investments must be refinanced through the fees.
"School is the most important topic"
"School is the most important topic in this period," said the new mayor. Carefully, but clearly, he made a commitment: “I think that the Wartenberg market will build the school. I can not imagine that the other members of the school association want to pay here too. ”He held on to the idea of a school building committee in the municipal council. When asked about his further ambitions, Pröbst became very cautious. He explained that the three mayors had already proposed who could and should take up which office. Decisions are still pending (see below) .
In the next months and years, many things would have to be worked through that the old committee could no longer bring to an end: “We have a real problem with the house for children, where the roof simply has to be made, and then of course with the Social housing that we want and need to renovate. "
"With a black eye" through the corona crisis
From a budgetary point of view, Pröbst is not too worried about the current crisis: "We have 600 business taxpayers." With that there is a reasonable distribution and a large mix of industries, he indicated: "Fortunately, we are not so airport-related. So I hope that we can get away with it. ”As previously reported, the municipality of Oberding only had to adjust its budget this week because the originally estimated trade tax income due to the corona pandemic was no longer realistic. The Wartenberger 2020 budget opposes this, and it could remain as it is. The municipality's reserves would not have to be attacked. This would also allow the construction of the bridge over the estrogens to be completed.
With the medical supply project, he wanted and must definitely go back to the market council, says Pröbst. Even if the constituent meeting showed a certain front position, the mayor wants to hold on to involve all forces in the committee equally. That applies especially to the current crisis, which also shows him the limits: "I will not make it alone."
Ambitions on the VG chair
At the constituent meeting of the market town council, Pröbst announced cautiously but clearly ambitions to chair the VG. When the Free Voters came up with their application to set up a fire brigade speaker, Pröbst took a long swing.
Cooperation at VG level is necessary, said the CSU man and even mentioned other topics. This is also an option when it comes to the construction yard, he said. Pröbst already indicated that synergy effects could be achieved by sharing machines.
VG Steinkirchen shows it
This caused a stir, because it is something that is not new in the Erding district. The VG Steinkirchen im Holzland, for example, did just that: First, a cooperation between two municipalities with joint procurement planning for the machines, and then the takeover of the entire building yard on the VG level, also in terms of budget. The VG Steinkirchen budget now contains the building yard, which has been spun off from the households of the member communities.
