Insults and assaults homophobic or transphobic again experienced a strong surge of 36% last year in France, announced on Saturday the Interior Minister.

In 2019, the police and gendarmerie forces " identified 1,870 victims of homophobic or transphobic offenses against 1380 in 2018, " the ministry said in a statement. Complaints by LGBT people (lesbians, gays, bi, trans) had already increased by 33% in 2018.
