At 9:40 am last Thursday (7th), the police 999 report center received an anonymous call that there were bomb devices in the airport area, including hotels and gas stations. Police sent officers to the scene. After careful search, they found no case. The case was classified as "Bomb Threat" and was referred to the Lantau Heavy Investigation Unit.

Inspector Yu Bohan, assistant commander (criminal) of the Lantau Police District, pointed out that after thorough investigation and detailed analysis by the police, including tracing the source of the phone and reading a large number of CCTV images, the suspect was finally locked. At 12:20 noon yesterday (15th), a 48-year-old woman was arrested at Fu Tung Estate Park in Tung Chung, and the clothes worn during the suspected crime were seized at her home. The arrested person reported being unemployed and is being detained for investigation.

Yu Bohan continued to note that in recent days there have been repeated false bomb reports, blaming the actions for irresponsibility, not only wasting police power, but also causing inconvenience and trouble to the public. He accused the prisoner of making an anonymous report, intending to conceal his identity and evade police investigation. Yu emphasized that "bomb deterrence" is a serious crime. Once convicted, the maximum penalty is a fine of 150,000 and imprisonment for 5 years.
