According to a creative idea by her colleague Katharina Luidl, the works and design teacher at the elementary school in Stockdorf, Karin Gebhard, made flags with pupils - for every child who still has to stay at home because of the corona restrictions. In the first step of relaxation, there are currently classroom classes for the fourth graders.
Stockdorf– “What I missed most was my friends, my grandpa and my grandma,” says Pierre (7). School and "I missed my friends playing a lot," adds Sofie (7). For the college of teachers, the school closure and reopening on Monday with hygiene and clearance rules were “a logistical challenge,” says Rector Bettina Aufhauser.
The fourth graders are currently being taught in halved classes in two shifts with a half-hour break. When the first graders return to school next week, they will come through the main entrance, the fourth graders via the fire stairs, Aufhauser explains the logistics.
During the lesson-free period, some teachers would have given individual lessons via an online system. But some children without an iPad were left behind. The Rector therefore ordered iPads from the Gautingen IT representative.
The religion teacher is very popular in this time of crisis. Birgit Gerber-Glöckner has set up a "grief mailbox" for confidential messages at the school entrance - and also offers a telephone consultation: "We don't know what happens to the children at home," says the principal. Most parents are simply overwhelmed with homeschooling, and the children longed for contact with their teachers.
