His thesis: Many teachers abuse the Corona regulations in order not to have to teach, even though they are no more at risk than others.

For example, a chronically ill civil servant wanted to have a certificate in the Corona crisis, even though he has his own office and no customer contact. "Such a person can stay at full salary while cashiers continue to work in the supermarket," says Lehmann, who himself suffers from asthma and high blood pressure and still works at 74 years old.
He runs the practice in the Kassel district with his 68-year-old wife. Her daughter will soon take over. Lehmann believes: "If everyone behaved like many teachers, half of the hospitals would be closed and the country would be completely devastated."

The Hessian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians has no statistics that would show the professions in which there are particularly many exemptions due to Corona. "We can only seriously estimate this at the beginning of July," says a spokesman.

Like Lehmann, Popert does not want to criticize teachers in the corona crisis. In general, he observes two tendencies: “Some show too little caution and spread wild theories, the others want to give up because they believe they have passed a risk. But we need a reasonable middle ground. ”
