While Emmanuel Macron launches this Sunday in Aisne a year of commemorations around General Charles de Gaulle, the idea of ​​a Memorial to the victims of the new coronavirus was suggested to him by the scientific council, according to Le Parisien.

"There is no reflection at this stage on this point," would have denied the official channel of the Élysée, interviewed by the local daily. Behind the scenes, however, several advisers to the President would study this project. "It's attractive on paper, but the president has no opinion yet. He just asks us to think about it, ” confides a close friend of Emmanuel Macron to the newspaper. The idea has also already drawn criticism on social networks. Sophie de Menthon, president of the ETHIC business movement, castigated this idea with irony on a very shared Twitter post: "and why not for the victims of gastroenteritis?".
