Behind the scenes, however, several advisers to the President would study this project. "It's attractive on paper, but the president has no opinion yet. He just asks us to think about it, ” confides a close friend of Emmanuel Macron to the newspaper. Another, however, evokes on the contrary "a hazardous operation" : "Before embarking on the establishment of a Covid memorial day, or the erection of a kind of monument, it may be necessary to see how everything it will end. "
The idea has also already drawn criticism on social networks. Sophie de Menthon, president of the ETHIC business movement, castigated this idea with irony on a very shared Twitter post: "and why not for the victims of gastroenteritis?".
In the same vein, the announcement in the Council of Ministers last Wednesday of a medal "of commitment" and a tribute on July 14 was more annoyed than convinced in the world of caregivers.
