A big drama happened last Friday at the Super Pharm branch in Hod Hasharon, when a man in his 70s collapsed at the entrance to the branch. Fortunately for the man, the pharmacist at the Gadi Klersfeld branch, who has CPR experience, jumped and performed CPR until his pulse returned.

Klarsfeld told Israel Today: "The branch franchisee ran to the counter and said someone had passed out at the entrance and asked us to come help. I ran straight out. I was sure to meet someone who passed out because of the heat. I saw a relatively older man over 70, in a bad position lying on the floor", Describe the course of events.

"I am also a combat veteran in my past and also worked as an ambulance driver in the past, so it happened to me. The world of resuscitation has been close to my heart for many years. I saw that the man was blue, he was not breathing and had no pulse. The breathing and the pulse and it made us happy, of course, "he said excitedly.

He said that "the man was not even able to enter the branch. He fell with his grandchild outside the branch. The grandchild was very pressured and called his mother. His family immediately arrived at the branch. For immediate treatment. It's a matter of seconds. "

Clarksfeld said that after the resuscitation, he was kept by MDA staff and they did more advanced treatment with a defibrillator and medication. "They worked quite a bit and evacuated him to the hospital. We don't know what his condition is, but he was in danger. "

As mentioned, this is not the first time that Pharmacist Klarsfeld is performing CPR. "It happened to me for the first time in 1991, when I was in the first week of the pharmacy studies. Someone fell into the pharmacy and did CPR until MDA arrived."

He said of the importance of the resuscitation process "Statistically as more people knew how to resuscitate, the better the state of the population would be. It fills with satisfaction when you look at your hands and tell yourself - we saved lives." Claersfeld, who celebrated his birthday last week, added: "This is definitely my birthday present. You can learn how fragile life is."
