The Special Assistant of the President of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council for International Affairs Hussein Amir Abdullahian reiterated that his country's relations with Syria are "strategic", stressing the importance of the two countries' cooperation in combating terrorism.
Abdullah also stressed in a statement to Al-Alam news channel today that Syria's steadfastness failed the American plans, noting the great achievements and victories that the Syrian Arab Army had achieved with the support of its friends and allies on terrorism.
Abdullahian pointed out that the presence of Iranian advisers in Syria came with an official invitation from her government, explaining that they remained in it as long as the Syrian government requested it.
Abdullah stressed that his country will continue to support the Palestinian cause until the liberation of Jerusalem and all the occupied territories.
